The Sam Kong Shrine procession opens the series: on 13 October at 07:45 the procession sets out from the shrine through the city streets. The poster shows the route out and back, with a ritual site at Saphan Hin.

Sam Kong Shrine is a century-old Chinese temple in north Phuket Town dedicated to the deity Lim Hu Tai Su. The shrine is run by the local Hokkien Chinese community, which holds its own processions during the festival. Yew Keng is the procession of deities through the city, one of the main parts of Phuket's annual Vegetarian Festival.
