About the event
At Jor Su Gong Naka Shrine, the festival opens with yellow flags being raised, followed by a sequence of traditional rituals. The programme includes the ceremonial pole-raising, prayers, processions, offerings, fire-walking and the final lowering of the pole, with devotees observing a vegetarian fast.

Jor Su Gong Naka Shrine is a Chinese shrine built in 1904 by tin miners, known for its ornate dragon-pillar architecture and lion-topped roof.
