About the event
Hok Ong Tong Shrine is being prepared for the Phuket Vegetarian Festival with a group clean-up, gold leaf applied to the Go Teng pole and the recently restored door of the Lai Tian room. A Cha Tek Kiam ceremony is also scheduled. During the festival, rituals take place at the shrine, and people from nearby Chalong can collect food daily from its kitchen, which serves at two times each day.

Hok Ong Tong Shrine is a Chinese shrine in Chalong, known for its Chinese motifs and architecture. The Phuket Vegetarian Festival is an annual religious and cultural tradition rooted in Taoist beliefs and Hokkien Chinese heritage.
